The Global Health Institute (GHI) – Thailand has been conducted annually with our various international partners since 2012. This program will strengthen both relevant technical skills and knowledge for fostering collective action of public health, surveillance system, food security and ecosystem health by interdisciplinary health education. GHI benefits number of participants from all over Asia and global to encourage One Health leadership as future workforce to help protect and save numbers of lives in our present and future generations.

OBJECTIVES

To better understanding of global health issue as a complex, multi-factorial, systemic issue for public health, animal health and environmental health.

To develop key leadership skills for collective action including: Communications, Working across boundaries collaborations, and strategic thinking

To strengthen the knowledge of various tools, including, molecular epidemiology and risk analysis, and apply these techniques in the various situations.

To encourage the role of Veterinarian in transboundary surveillance system through lesson learned from African Swine Fever

Course 1: Collaborative Action Addressing Antimicrobial Resistance as a Global Grand Challenge Using One Health Leadership
5-9 August 2019
A 5-day training course for develop a key of leadership skills for catalyzing collective action to address global health challenges through antimicrobial resistance scenario.
Course 2:
Vitalize Surveillance for Food and Health System through Molecular Epidemiology
13-15 August 2019
Basic concepts in molecular biology, evolution and population genetics, basic molecular techniques, application of molecular techniques in epidemiological study.
Course 3:
Risk Analysis in Practice to Improve Food System
15-17 August 2019
Types, components, and stages of risk analysis, qualitative risk assessments, quantitative risk assessment (QRA), probability theory and distribution, modeling and simulation in QRA, risk analysis computer software, risk management and risk communication.
Course 4:
Application of Risk-Based Surveillance to Tackle African Swine Fever
19-23 August 2019
Emerging animal and zoonotic diseases and increasing international trade have resulted in an increased demand for veterinary surveillance systems.
