About the Global Health Institute - Thailand (GHIT)
The Global Health Institute (GHI) – Thailand has been conducted continually by Veterinary Public Health Centre for Asia Pacific at Chiang Mai University in collaborate with our various partners for 6 years since 2012 with integrative OneHealth concerning. The program strengthened relevant technical skills and identify opportunities for fostering collective action for the benefit of public health, food security and ecosystem health. By the interdisciplinary health education, the GHI benefited number of participants from all over Asia and global to explore the leadership context as a part of the solution to help protect and save numbers of lives in our present and future generations.

Global Health Institute – Thailand 2018: We will establish memorable event and we are pleased to invite you to be a part of this special occasion, 'Global Health Institute Thailand 2018 during 2-13 July 2018 with 6 track courses that can be selected by each participant in order to fulfill and complement the OneHealth Leadership experiences. And 5th Food safety and zoonoses symposium for Asia Pacific" on 6-7 July as a great opportunity for all participants to have a platform for knowledge sharing and update.

Objectives:

To better understanding of ‘grand challenges’: complex, multi-factorial, systemic issues emerging at the convergence of public health, animal health, economic development and environmental health

To develop key leadership skills for catalyzing collective action including: Communications, Working across boundaries, Influence, Vision and strategic thinking, Accomplishing results and catalyzing change

To exchange the update knowledge and share OneHealth experiences and success story

Intensify opportunities to use these technical skills and leadership competencies to address complex challenges and opportunities, such as global food security, emerging infectious diseases, or the control of catastrophic animal disease

To nurture integrative research and diffusion of learning in human, animal and environmental interaction through a collaborative network among international researchers

About
GHI-Thailand
The Veterinary Public Health Centre of Asia Pacific (VPHCAP) has been conducted since 1994 with a vision of international academic and collaborative reference centre in the Food safety, zoonoses and epidemiology. The main objective of the centre is developing and managing the food safety and zoonoses of Asia Pacific. Consequently, VPHCAP activities remain to generate optimal knowledge concerning the surveillance for food safely, zoonosis and emerging diseases to local and international collaborating of academic organizations of Asia Pacific.
Moreover, the centre bears the vision to a self-dependent and international leading acknowledged organization in ASEAN. This has persuaded the cooperation between the VPHCAP, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Chiang Mai University and with Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Freie Universität Berlin, Federal Republic of Germany to generate the Master of Veterinary Public Health joint degree programme (MVPH). This international programme cover course modules related to food safety, zoonoses and environmental hygiene.

The 5th Food Safety and Zoonoses Symposium for Asia Pacific will be conducted during 6-7 July 2018 by Veterinary Public Health Centre for Asia Pacific, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Chiang Mai University. In this special occasion, this year we integrate this symposium to the Global Health Institute-Thailand 2018 to encourage, strengthen and generate innovative knowledge between academic experiences in food safety and zoonoses together with expert, government, private, academic scientists, graduate and doctoral-level students in the Asia Pacific region and global level.
