"Synergizing Strategies for Measuring, Modeling and Mitigating

Exposure Hazard and Disease Risks at their Origins"

Recognizing the important of emerging and re-emerging diseases which usually transmitted from animals to human, the speed with which these diseases can emerge and spread presents serious public health, economic, and development concerns. It also underscores the need for the development of comprehensive disease detection and response capacities, particularly in those geographic areas where disease threats are likely to emerge especially in Asia and brought to all over the world by worldwide transportation.

Thus, the VPHCAP organized a special lecture related to Global Health Concern Emerging Pandemic Threats in Asia on July 16, 2014 at Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, CMU by Prof.Dr. Gebreyes Wondwossen from The Ohio State University, USA to expand and exchange how to confront and manage these emerging diseases in Asia and important role of veterinarian in veterinary public health. This special lecture was attended by over 30 participants who are specialists, lecturers, students and government officials.
