World's First Dengue Hemorrhagic fever vaccination

The Minister of Ministry of Science and Technology Mr.Veerachai Weerametheekul, Dr.Poonsook Keelapang and Associate Professor Doctor Nopporn Sittisombut form Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University on behalf of Biotech’s researchers and Associate Professor Doctor Suthee Yoksarn, lecturer from Institute of Molecular Biosciences, Mahidol University make a statement of world’s first success in protection hemorrhagic fever by the use of Hybrid Live Attenuated Vaccines at Ministry of Science and technology.
Mr. Weera said that it was the researchers’ success in an invention hemorrhagic fever vaccine causing from Dengue virus with Bio-engineering technique. The researchers used transgenic method to weaken virus resulting vaccine with 4 species of Dengue virus defensible capability in only one vaccine. Moreover, the vaccine also provides antibody creation in human’s bodies. Ministry of Science and Technology on behalf of researchers’ sponsor allows Bionet-Asia company limited to continue commercial vaccine development. It was expected that the process would be successful within 10 years.
Professor Dr. Nopporn stated that the test of vaccine proficiency done in guinea pig include mouse and monkey satisfactorily resulted showing that guinea pigs were uninfected and created active immunity themselves. In Thailand, the incident of hemorrhagic fever in human was found only 1% of population or 600,000 people. There are around 200,000 people or only one-fifth who caught virus acted up with fever. Since the last 30 years of hemorrhagic fever spread, virus has no change its species. It was found that there are only 4 species lead to disease. The researching team discovered that weakening virus with transgenic method of Bio-engineering is the best way to create vaccine.
Associate Professor Doctor Suthee claimed that most of the fever mainly causing from Dengue virus specie 1-4 has spreading very fast for the last 20 years without vaccine provided until today. The spread were found essentially in tropical zone countries include Asia, South and North America fetching 10,000,000 adult patients and 500,000 children patients who admitted in hospital. The statistic from Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health shows that there were 115,845 patients and 141 deceased causing from hemorrhagic fever in 2010. In January 2011, 1,119 patients have been found.
